Follow your heart.
My closest friends describe me as a friendly and driven personality! I've been a teacher and performer for over 20 years. I have enthusiasm and passion for singing, presenting tuition with vitality and fun. I teach a range of styles from jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, rock and beyond, with a focus on achieving goals, vocal health and performance.
I graduated from Elder Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music and Adelaide University with a Graduate Diploma in Education. I am also an Estill Master Teacher. In addition to a traditional approach to voice at Uni, I have worked extensively with the Estill Vocal mode. Jo Estill's scientific research provides a practical tangible and achievable basis to gain control and understand the voice. Which provides a brilliant foundation for vocal technique and application to repertoire. For more than a decade I was the vocal lecturer at Noarlunga TAFE Contemporary Music Department where I developed the vocal program with a strong focus on Estill Vocal Training.
I have performed in many musical outfits nationally and internationally from disco funk to 9 piece Latin bands to pop/rock and jazz and vocal jazz ensembles. I have performed as an Actor and Musical Director with the South Australian Writer’s Theatre. I was Musical Director for “Wind in the Willows” with InkPot ARTS in 2018.
I cohost at Estill Workshops Levels 1&2. I lecture in voice and music at Adelaide College of the Arts (TAFESA) in the Acting and Dance Department and am Musical Director and pianist for productions.
I am Vocal Coach at Adelaide University in the Music Theatre degree. Currently I also teach singing at Concordia College and Saints Girls.
